I haven't heard from Brandon-san in far too long, and when I try to call his cell no one picks up. Although, knowing him, it's sitting in his house in LA right now with 1067 missed calls on it. I hope he's not getting himself into trouble.
I have another photoshoot tomorrow, but lately it seems as if everything is losing it's meaning. Anhedonia?
I'll crank up the music, dance with a bottle of vodka and hope that everything gets better. Current Mood: depressed Current Music: Joss Stone - Fell in Love With a Boy

Narcissism day.
First, a definition.
Excessive love or admiration of oneself. See Synonyms at conceit; A psychological condition characterized by self-preoccupation, lack of empathy, and unconscious deficits in self-esteem; Erotic pleasure derived from contemplation or admiration of one's own body or self, especially as a fixation on or a regression to an infantile stage of development; The attribute of the human psyche charactized by admiration of oneself but within normal limits.
And now for the "good stuff", a bit about me. I'm 21, soon to be 22. My name is Devon Edwenna Aoki, and my measurements are 32-22-33. Yes, seemingly impossible I know, but true! Would I lie to you? I was discovered at a Rancid concert, and only agreed to model if my soon to be manager would introduce me to the band. I'm thought of as a muse for many designers, due to my impecibly unique looks. I've been called Karl Lagerfeld's darling and Jeremy Scott's life blood. Some credit me for bringing revolution to modelling - I'm a new breed of model in that I'm not a cookie-cutter image and I'm not six feet tall.
I finished high school and am currently working on some University courses through correspondence, which isn't an easy task. In addition to that I'm acting in movies, recording a CD on my brother's label, and creating a clothing/fragrance line.
I'd say that's all pretty wonderful, and, well, this whole thing makes me pretty uncomfortable. However, I did need the reason to update...so I hope you enjoyed. Current Mood: disclaimerCurrent Music: Third Eye Blind - Jumper

The party was last night, and it was fantabulous if I do say so myself. There are various people passed out and sleeping around my house, most of them celebrities in one form or another. I think that there are some passed out on the beach, too...I should probably go check. That's dangerous with the hot sun, you know. Anyway, Daddy (don't I sound like a spoiled brat?) sent me a surprise Sakura Matsuki present - the entire waitstaff of one of his Benihana's to serve at the party. As well as a ton of food, but that was planned. I'm a sucker for sushi! His staff were great - they dressed in Japanese attire as Geishas. Speaking of which, would you like to see what I wore? (but shhh...it was a wedding kimono. Keep that on the downlow!) I wish that I had a picture of it on, but I haven't left the house to get them developed yet. Yes, I still use a good old fashion camera. The party was wild! After a few drinks, some people who shall go unmentioned here found themselves swimming in the ocean, in various states of dress and undress. Haha. I'm not telling whether or not one of them was me. I got to meet a lot of people that I hadn't yet met (Ashley, Jennifer Love, Charlize, Tara, and Anna, among others) and see some friends that I hadn't seen in a while (Vin, Andy, Virginie, Aimee, Eva, etc.) Everyone looked fantastic! So hot, so hot. The weather was perfect, and I just loved it. I may just have to make this an annual thing! I'm tempted to wake people up and see if they can remember where the kimono ended up last night...God only knows. I'm sure we did a lot of funny things that I can't remember, too! Today is the second day of Sakura Matsuki , which is the Japanese cherry blossom festival. Sakura Matsuki is a Japanese tradition that happens every year. Basically speaking, it's our way of welcoming Spring. The season lasts for approximately a month, and is usually host to many parties. Traditionally the Japanese wear costumes to celebrate at said parties.
So here's where you come in.
Who: You, and yours. Everyone who's anyone is invited! What: A Sakura Matsuki party. Where: My LA beach house. When: April 1st, 2004. Why: Why not?
The only hitch is that I require that you dress up. This could be a costume or formal attire - it's your call. Anything goes, really.
Please RSVP so that I can get enough champagne , akura-yu (cherry water), and sake for everyone!
I hope to see you all there! Current Mood: excited

Don't get me wrong, I frickin' love that the semagic icon blinks red now when one of you has updated. But it likes to tease me, you see. It blinks constantly, randomly. I click on it, and no update.

I've had so much to update about, and yet I can't bring myself to do so.
LA has been great. As was Florida. I spent three days with Andy there last week, and it was great. I had a blast - he's really quite a lot of fun.
Back in LA, I hung out with Aimee for a bit. We went shopping and crusing - so much fun!
I ran into Rick Soloman on Wednesday...Yeesh. You might know him from the Paris Hilton sex-tape scandal, and we dated very briefly a few years ago. I'm not really sure what I was thinking then. I was young and naive. Anyway, I was downtown shopping on Rodeo, and I walk into one of the shops and there he is. Before I had a chance to turn around and walk out quietly, he had spotted me. I made awkward conversation with him for a while before excusing myself and leaving. What could I really say? "So, you made a sex tape with Paris Hilton and then put it on the internet. How's that going for you?" I'll be perfectly happy never seeing him again.
New York is calling me again. Or more specifically, Echo is. She's tired of feeding my cat, and I have a 'million' messages on my machine. I haven't been checking it because I don't want to think about work again. Sorry if you were one of the ones that called.
Brandon needs to update. You all need to update! Give me something to read. Current Mood: blank Current Music: Tracy Chapman - Fast Car

LA has been wonderful. I've been out with Jeremy, who is a ton of fun! He's a University boy, and he can certainly drink like one. Not that this little model didn't put up a decent fight, though. I snuck up on Brandon last night. Luckily, I didn't wind up shot. It was really nice to see him again. We hung out, talked, got into a little bit of trouble. The usual. We went out on the beach to look at the stars, and ended up staying out there until the sun rose. He sang random little bits of a couple songs to me. I made him sing Warning as, usual although he resists like nothing else. We always seem to end up singing campy songs from the 50s and 60s together in the end. Anyhow, he's off to promote the new album again in a few days (which, for the record, rocks my boat! You must buy it!) but I told him that he needs to stay with me in New York again when he gets a chance. I miss him and his antics. I'm off to Florida with Andy in a few days, and hopefully I'll be coming back here afterwards. There are still a whole bunch of people that I need to see! (I'm looking at you and you!) Take care, loves. Current Mood: peaceful

I'm in LA now, and I haven't seen anyone yet. Where are you to entertain me? Anyhow, the weather is great, as is the shopping. I've already done much damage to one of my credit cards - I think it might actually be smoking. Oh well. I'm leaving in a few days for a while to go and spend some time with Andy. I miss him completely and utterly. And the important question of the day...what's with all the clones lately? Or have I just never noticed that they come by the hundreds before? Thank god no one will ever want to clone me! I really have nothing of substance to say. Give me something good to talk about? 1. You have one day free to do whatever you want. What would it be? I have a lot of free days lately! I'd take off for LA and spend it relaxing with my boys. 2. What's one thing you want to change about yourself? Only one thing? I think that I lie to myself sometimes, on an unconcious level. It's a defense mechanism for hurt. A broken heart is scared of breaking again. 3. What is your favorite article of clothing? Very tough! Brandon wants me to say the gorilla suit, I'm sure. Probably my pimp hat or my Betsey Johnson dress because they were one of the first few pieces that a designer ever made with me in mind. 4. Would you rather live a fairy-tale life or one with lots of choices to make? Choices, definitely. I'd get too bored if I had a perfect life...I'm restless. 5. Would you rather be president of the United States or secretary-general of the United Nations and why? Secretary-general of the United Nations, simply because it would require that I have a toe in a lot of different countries. On a different note, I'm off for LA tomorrow. I promised a few people that I would and this seems like the ideal time. If you want to get together while I'm out there, please drop me a line or call me. I'm up for it. This isn't just a pleasure trip, though. I've got a few loose ends to tie up and some work to do on the clothing line, as always. Basically speaking, it's just a chance for me to get out of New York for a bit. It'll be lovely.

If you could be anyone or anything for 24 hours, what would you be and why? I'd love to be the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It has so much history, and I'm sure that it has quite a few great stories to tell. Have you ever been in love? Ummm...tough question. I guess not, based on the fact that everyone always says that you should know when you're in love. I've fallen in love, but never been in love. Does that make sense? What is your favorite color, and why? Silver. Who ever says silver? I love how metallic it is, and how I always expect whatever is silver to feel cold to the touch. Peanut or Plain M&M's? Peanut :) What animal is your least favorite? Least favorite? I love animals. Do insects count? If so, then spiders. Oh! I figured it out! My least favorite animal is the bat. It's like a super rat with wings. Ick.
I believe the deal is that now you get to request that I ask you five questions, and then you have to post them in your journal. D'accord?
